Preventive maintenance

Chromatograph maintenance is a check of the entire analytical complex: from power supply and gas lines to the sample introduction system, column, detector and software. Regular maintenance helps to maintain the stable operation of the equipment and detect contamination, leaks and wear of consumables in a timely manner.

Below is a typical list of works using a gas chromatograph as an example NeoCHROM Class B. The scope of service is determined taking into account the configuration and technical condition of a particular device.

Power supply system

  • Inspection of power supply and distribution lines for damage.
  • Elimination of detected damage to lines within the agreed scope of maintenance.
  • Checking the uninterruptible power supply.

Gas supply and gas distribution

We check the condition of gas lines and auxiliary equipment that ensures the operation of the chromatograph.

  • Inspection of gas distribution lines, detection and elimination of damage within the agreed scope of maintenance.
  • Search for sources of gas leaks and elimination of detected leaks.
  • Checking the hydrogen generator and compressor, if they are part of the complex.

Registration and data processing

  • Overview of data exchange lines between the device and the workstation.
  • Checking the workstation.
  • Verification of software for management, registration and data processing.

Autosampler and sample introduction

We service the automatic sample introduction system and check the condition of its consumables.

  • Checking the operating parameters of the autosampler.
  • Inspection of electromechanical units of the autosampler and their cleaning if necessary.
  • Checking the condition of the syringe, cleaning it or replacing it if necessary.
  • Checking the wash and drain vials, cleaning or replacing them as needed.

Injector and carrier gas lines

  • Checking the condition and replacing the liner, glass wool and septa in accordance with the agreed list of works.
  • Leak testing of carrier gas, septum purge and split vent lines.
  • Elimination of detected leaks.
  • Checking the filters of the relevant gas lines and replacing them if necessary.
  • Checking gas and temperature regimes of the injector.

Column oven and chromatographic column

  • Checking the temperature regimes of the column thermostat.
  • Checking the state of the capillary chromatographic column.

Detector

The list of works depends on the type of installed detector. For a flame ionization detector, maintenance includes:

  • Inspection and cleaning of the jet, collector and ignition components.
  • Checking the operating parameters of the supply of hydrogen, air and additional gas.
  • Checking the temperature regimes and metrological characteristics of the detector.

Conditioning

The complex of works includes conditioning of the injection port, capillary column and detector. The modes are selected taking into account the installed column and the configuration of the device.

Annual maintenance and warranty

Annual maintenance is a condition for maintaining the NeoCHROM warranty on new equipment for a period of at least 7 years. A regular inspection helps to detect changes in the operation of the device in time and to plan the replacement of consumables.

For your business it is predictable equipment maintenance costs: annual maintenance can be included in the budget in advance. During the warranty period, subject to annual maintenance, any malfunction is rectified without additional charge, including the necessary replacement of components. The only exception is physical damage or destruction of the equipment.

How to order maintenance

Provide the chromatograph model, serial number and configuration, the date of the last maintenance and any observations about its operation. This information allows us to determine the required work and consumables and prepare a cost estimate.
